Position purpose:
By following the Plan of Care that has been completed by the RN, the Home Health Aide provides assistance with the following: -Maintaining a healthful, safe environment. -Providing nutritional and environmental support. -Assisting with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the patient. -Reminding the patient to take medications. -Documentation on the Aide Charting Sheet daily. -Emotional support and the development of a trusting relationship between the aide and the patient.
Additional skills/Professional characteristics:
Must be state certified with a verifiable certificate and have reliable transportation. Also needs and be willing to service clients in Norwich and the surrounding area
Special skills:
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older -Must have a certficate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with state requirements with evidence of ongoing inservice education to maintain the certificate. -Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient's family and agency personnel. -Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled.
Physical requirements:
Must be in reasonable physical shape to help in assisting the client with turning, transferring, and helping them out of bed.
